The sandy shore at first glance looks barren. Not unlike a desert. However like a desert environment animals can be found if you know where to look. The constant wave action pounding the beach makes just staying in one position difficult for marine plants and animals. Only animals such as limpets or Algae that can attach themselves securely to the permanent solid structures can be found above the sand. Other organisms prevent themselves from being washed away by the tide by locating themselves deep in the sand away from the constant wave and tidal action of the ocean
