STONE FISH
The stonefishes (Synacceja Spp.) are shallow living species a consequence of which is that they are a danger to bathers. The venom of which can kill a man in 2 hours. The stonefish is very well camouflaged both in shape and colour, resembling a small rock from which the name is derived.
The venom is contained in a number of sharp dorsal spines, Placing them in a perfect position to inject venom into unsuspecting bathers foot.




Distribution: Australia and most of the Indian and Pacific waters.

Colour: Brown with a warty texture.
